Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad
The new version of the Logitech keyboard cover looks really nice! There’s a lot of people — myself included — who like using an external keyboard with their iPad for long form writing. I like using an external keyboard when I’m sitting at my desk just to avoid all the mistakes I make with the on-screen keyboard. Just before the new iPad was released, I purchased the Logitech Tablet Keyboard which has been really great.

It’s the size of the dongle
Asus announced this week that they are offering a free “dongle” to fix the GPS problems with their flagship Transformer Prime. Here’s how they describe it: Although the Transformer Prime is not a professional GPS device, as part of our unwavering commitment to customers we are offering all Transformer Prime owners a free external GPS extension kit, called a dongle, which may help improve signal reception and optimize the user experience

The magic price
Bloomberg is reporting that Audi is paying 1.1 Billion to purchase Ducati. The deal, minus debt, would value Ducati at about seven times last year’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. So Instagram, a company with zero revenue generation, is worth 1B and Ducati, a motorcycle coveted by many, is worth 1.1B? I really don’t understand how these things work.

Nokia releases Lumia 900 update
Three days earlier than promised. Some could argue that this bug shouldn’t have made it out the door but good on Nokia for getting an update out and even delivering early. The prompt apology, a discount/refund, and a very fast delivery of a fix; these are all really good signs of how seriously Nokia is taking this. Whether they succeed or not, they just moved up a notch in my book.

Android users flock to Instagram
Techcrunch: Since the launch of its Android app, Instagram’s user base grew from 30 to 40 million. That’s over 1,000,000 new users a day. Flock is such a silly word, I should be embarrassed for using it. 10 million new users in a week is a very nice bump. Now, let’s all cross our fingers that Facebook doesn’t mess with it.

The Cosmonaut stylus
I’ll admit it, I somehow ended up hooked on Draw Something and then, mysteriously, sucked in by Paper. This means I have a lot of horrible stick figures to draw and only my finger to do it with. This simply will not do so I ordered the Cosmonaut by Studio Neat. I’m going to take a real quick break here and point you at this great stylus comparison by The Verge.

Too far from the kitchen
The perfect alarm app for morning masochists: Morning Routine. Morning Routine is an alarm clock that lets you get out of bed! Set it up, so that you have to scan the milk cartoon, or any other item, to turn off the alarm. I’d rather oversleep.

A fancy new look for Chrome OS
The Google Operating System blog (unofficial as it may be) has some screenshots and info about the new window manager called “Aura”. It looks really nice and I was ready to rush home to flash the CR-48 until I saw this: The latest Chrome OS release is only available for Samsung and Acer Chromebooks as Cr-48 Chromebooks will skip Chrome 19. I’m a sad panda.

Facebook acquires Instagram
Facebook PR MENLO PARK, CALIF.—April 9, 2012—Facebook announced today that it has reached an agreement to acquire Instagram, a fun, popular photo-sharing app for mobile devices. The total consideration for San Francisco-based Instagram is approximately $1 billion in a combination of cash and shares of Facebook. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close later this quarter. I suspect Facebook felt threatened by Instagram’s growing self portrait numbers and acted in a panic.
